Blazing a trail to a stronger community!
Last year, we commemorated the 10th anniversary of the unification of the former Stateline United Way and United Way of North Rock County, resulting in the formation of United Way Blackhawk Region.
One big way we celebrated this milestone was by hosting our first GIVE & WIN Sweepstakes. If you attended our LIVE UNITED Celebration on March 15, 2023, you can’t help but remember Arlo Hartley from Beloit Health System as the lucky and ecstatic winner of the top prize – a 2022 Jeep Renegade.
Thanks to the popularity of the sweepstakes and your generosity, 98 workplace campaigns (60% of our corporate partners) increased their financial support; 34% of loyal supporters increased their gift over the prior year; and more than 1,000 brand new donors joined United Way’s community campaign. Together, we were able to attain our goal of raising $2 million dollars to address the complex needs of the Blackhawk Region.
So, our course-charting board of directors looked at the data and said, giddy-up! Let’s keep the momentum high and host another GIVE & WIN Sweepstakes. Our team set to work identifying attractive prizes and we’re thrilled to have another stellar line-up for you.
This year’s top prize is a rugged 2023 Chevy Trailblazer, sponsored by a generous and anonymous corporate partner. All of the sweepstakes prizes were donated by corporate partners and we’re incredibly grateful for their support.
Every individual who pledges a financial contribution to United Way is a trailblazer. With your support, we build a path to a stronger community culminating in improved access to medical, dental, and mental health care; enriching educational opportunities; and financial stability for individuals and families in crisis.
How to enter the sweepstakes
GIVE a new or increased gift of $25 or $50 and you will be automatically entered to win one of three prize packages. GIVE a new or increased gift of $100 and you could win the Trailblazer. We listened to your feedback and new in 2023, if you give a new or increased gift of $200, you will be automatically entered to win in the $25, $50, and $100 prize levels.
While we continue working to grow the campaign and revive fundraising to pre-pandemic levels, we understand how important it is to thank donors who renew their pledge. If you repeat any size gift from the 2022 campaign, you will be entered for a chance to win the “hometown pride” prize.
Whether you contribute to United Way as an individual or as part of an employee giving campaign, the deadline for receipt of your donation (or workplace campaign envelope) is 4 p.m. on February 15, 2024. We plan to publicly announce sweepstakes prize winners at the LIVE UNITED Celebration luncheon, scheduled March 13, 2024.
