“The holiday season is the perfect time to convey gratitude and share joyous news,” said United Way Blackhawk Region CEO Mary Fanning-Penny. “More than 4,200 local children have been mailed free books because of United Way’s financial support and partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. That’s a wonderful milestone to celebrate!”

Each year, United Way Blackhawk Region invites community members to pledge financial gifts to combat societal ills and help address critical needs. As set by the volunteer board of directors, the 2021 community campaign goal is $2.3 million.

More than 50 local companies will receive Campaign Awards for their exceptional support of the Community Campaign, including four companies, ABC Supply Co. inc., Kerry, Mercyhealth and Regal that will receive the impressive Cornerstone Award for campaigns that exceeded $100,000.
