After a decade of leadership as United Way Blackhawk Region’s (UWBR) President & CEO, Mary Fanning-Penny has resigned and accepted a new position. Denise Peters-Kauihou has been appointed Acting President & CEO.
United Way recognized its corporate supporters, donors, volunteers, and community partners at its annual LIVE UNITED Celebration, held at the Eclipse Center in Beloit.
United Way Blackhawk Region has funded 211 since 2012 with grant support from Rock County Human Services.

This decision was not made hastily, and due diligence was conducted to ensure we’re making the right decision for our organization, community partners, and other stakeholders.

United Way Blackhawk Region kicked off its annual community campaign at an event on Wednesday, September 13 at the Eclipse Center in Beloit. The breakfast was attended by 385 United Way supporters, corporate partners, and Day of Caring volunteers.
United Way is asking nonprofit agencies, service clubs, public schools, municipalities, and service organizations to please consider submitting project(s) so we may afford the hundreds of volunteers who participate in this one-day event a meaningful experience.
