United Way Blackhawk Region has achieved a Gold Level Profile by GuideStar, the world’s largest source of information on nonprofit organizations.
GuideStar gathers and disseminates information on all IRS-registered nonprofit organizations. Profiles provide information on legitimacy, impact, finances, programs, transparency, and much more. GuideStar offers this free service to the public, so that potential donors may be able to take the information and make the best decisions possible on choosing a reputable, charitable organization to support.
United Way Blackhawk Region is only one of 112 nonprofits in the state of Wisconsin to receive the Gold Level Profile, and the only one in Rock County.
2016 Board Chair for United Way Blackhawk Region, Jon Schlemmer said, “This high level distinction from GuideStar, in addition to our recent 4 out of 4 star rating by Charity Navigator exemplifies United Way’s commitment to managing a transparent organization worthy of your trust and investment.”
United Way is taking this exciting announcement and applying it to the preparation already underway for this year’s Campaign. “We have started off 2016 achieving two top honors, of which our donors, volunteers, team, and region should be very proud of,” said President and CEO Mary Fanning-Penny. “Momentum continues to build as we strategize on ways to engage new audiences, expand the number of local workplace campaigns, while delivering meaningful impact to the community.”
