Day of Caring Registration

Nonprofit Leaders/ Day of Caring Project Hosts
United Way’s annual Day of Caring is an opportunity for you to host local volunteers willing to provide much-needed manpower to complete full or half day projects for your agency. Last year, 730 volunteers completed more than 100 service projects!

Teams are ready to roll up their sleeves and lend a hand. To help generate ideas for your agency, here are some examples of Day of Caring projects accomplished in the past:
• Interior and exterior painting
• Yard clean-up, landscaping, gardening
• Organizing donation rooms or pantries
• Delivering agency materials
• Delivering flowers or meals to our homebound neighbors
• Light construction (cabinets, fences, small decks, balance beams, storage units, little free libraries, etc.)
• Window cleaning and general building maintenance
• Office work (envelope stuffing, collating, shredding, workplace organization, etc.)
• Craft preparation, birthday kits for clients
• Read to youth as part of a summer program
• Downtown clean-up

Please click here to submit a project request. Your organization may submit multiple project requests, however you must submit a separate request form for each project. The deadline to submit projects is August 25th.

Day of Caring Volunteers
United Way’s annual Day of Caring is an exciting opportunity to experience the benefits of volunteering by completing full or half day projects for local nonprofit organizations. In most cases, nonprofit agencies have limited manpower, monetary resources and supplies to complete these projects.

Last year, 730 volunteers shared their time and talents to complete more than 100 projects in our community. Gather some co-workers or friends and form a team. United Way will assign your volunteer team to a local nonprofit agency for a meaningful Day of Caring project.

Please click here to complete a volunteer team registration form. The deadline to register volunteer teams is September 1st.

If you have any questions, please email Beth Gliebe, volunteer coordinator for Day of Caring at bgliebe@lubr.org .
